A locally elected five member board of directors guides the District’s programs and activities. Every legal age resident of Kalamazoo County is entitled to vote for the Directors who will oversee conservation efforts within our county. Mike Klooster will be on the ballot for a term that will begin in January 2020. ID is required to vote. Absentee ballots are also available at the KCD office Mon-Thurs between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.

The basics of why a tree canopy is so important, outlining the quantifiable benefits trees provide to a community. Trees affect our environment, energy bills, economy and even the value of our homes. You will also learn why planting diverse trees will support a healthy community forest that will live for generations to come.
