Kalamazoo County 4-H
Kalamazoo County 4-H is gearing up for another year of exciting hands-on learning and building up life skills in youth aged 5-19. The new 4-H programming year starts this month and now is the perfect time to become part of the largest youth development organization in the state, 4-H. The Kalamazoo County program has lots of exciting projects for youth to get involved in from livestock to robotics and beyond. Don’t have farm animals? No worries! We have 4-H clubs focused on arts, science, tabletop role playing games, and even dogs!

Clean Boats, Clean Waters
Boaters, skiers or swimmers can unintentionally spread invaders from one body of water to another when aquatic invasive species (AIS) hitch a ride on their recreational equipment. Clean Boats, Clean Waters is a volunteer education program designed to assist Michigan boaters keep their boats free of invasive species and to help protect their equipment and our waters from the havoc caused by invaders.

The Michigan Natural Shoreline Partnership (MNSP), is a collaboration of state agencies, academia, nonprofit organizations and private industry. It was formed in 2008 with the belief that a change was necessary in shoreline development practices in Michigan from high impacting methods that change the natural riparian condition to healthier and sustainable erosion control practices.

The Master Gardener Volunteer Program may be the perfect place for you! Last year , 3,507 MSU Extension Master Gardeners volunteers provided over 157,430 volunteer hours and reported an additional 616,306 contacts with Michigan citizens!  Through their volunteer outreach, MG's shared science-based, environmentally-sound gardening knowledge and engaged citizens and empowered communities.
